News: Massage Cat is 'All Mooncake'

'I just feel All Mooncake,' Massage Cat is quoted as saying early this morning amid media reports that he is visiting London's Chinatown with friends to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is also known as the Mooncake Festival.

Lucy says: 'I feel incredibly honoured to have been invited to join Massage Cat at this time.' Anna says: 'This is just such a one-time happening for both of us.'

Massage Cat reports on ice cream

A food resembling ice cream was first eaten in China during the reign of King Tang of Shang (618-97 CE), who reportedly had 94 ice men create a dish for him composed of buffalo milk, flour and camphor. Marco Polo is credited with bringing its recipe to Europe (it was more akin to our sherbet probably)

Insomnia is giving me such trouble

Today’s lifestyle is fast-moving. We’re often on the go from morning till night, our brains over-alive with super-stimulation, so it’s not surprising many of us find it difficult to sleep at night. The time before sleep should be one of quiet – try out these tips and see if they work:

• Build up a regular routine before sleep.
• Avoid alcohol.
• Conduct a relaxation or breathing exercise – as brief as you like.
• Remember worrying changes nothing.
• In this quiet time of quiet: avoid the use of technology – phones, laptops & TV.

Follow the above and you could end up like the individual below, who is a relation of Massage Cat.

Paper Birds

One of the greatest pleasures of ancient China was the flying of kites or, paper birds, as they are known. Fearsome-looking many-headed dragon kites were also used to provoke fear among the enemy during times of war, while Marco Polo in his chronicle observed that the soaring objects were used to predict the success of a voyage.

Thank you Sarkany

If one purposely lets a kite go, bad luck will follow.

The Emperors' Bear Cat

The modern Giant Panda, or Bear Cat, is some two to three million years old.

Imperial palaces maintained pandas to guard against natural disasters and malevolent spirits.

Forget cuddly creatures on treacly greetings cards frolicking among bamboo. These great beasts were symbols of might and bravery.

The political situation today: The Cat speaks

After the turbulence and political excitements of the last three days, The Cat advises tranquillity of mind, reloading of Qi batteries, and, for the body, a relaxing four-hand Chinese Tuina Massage with Anna and Lucy.

Tears of the Stone Forest

According to legend Ashima (阿诗玛) of the Yi People, a woman of surpassing beauty and sweetness of character, was born here in Yunnan Province in China's celebrated Stone Forest.

After falling in love Ashima was forbidden to marry her suitor and was instead turned to stone in the forest that still bears her name. Each year on the 24th day of the sixth lunar month, many Yi people celebrate the Torch Festival (火把节 Huǒbă Jié) in memory, it is said, of these sad events.

The Stone Forest is a cluster of ancient limestone formations that resemble trees
